Featuring many of the season's classics. including 'Silent Night', 'In the Bleak Midwinter' and a resplendent performance of 'Ave Maria'. I love Sara Brightman's sweet ethereal voice, and I was seduced by the gorgeous album cover--but I was disappointed by the music. The album contains rather an odd mixture of music, with some tracks that have been done too many times before, and a couple that she should not have done at all ("I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day" and "I Believe in Father Christmas"). THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSIC EVER HEARD BY ME. IT IS EXTRAORDINARY AND THE SELECTIONS ARE MAGNIFICANT. HOORAY FOR SARAH. MADE AN EXCELLENT PRESENT FOR LOVED ONES.

I had heard great things about this cd, and I was disappointed that it did not live up to the raves it was given by some people.

This year Sarah Brightman releases her first Christmas album. Frankly, I'm surprised its taken her this long to do one, but after listening to this several times over I feel like maybe she should have waited even longer. A WINTER SYMPHONY has its moments but feels kind of rushed to me; like she didn't put enough thought into her material. The songs I do love are "Arrival", "Ave Maria" with Fernando Lima, "Silent Night", "In The Bleak Midwinter", "I've Been This Way Before", and "Jesu, Joy Of Man's ... Read More
